Mini Make Over

In my previous post I mentioned I am currently doing the ICS home learning course in Make Up Artistry.
Well last week my lovely cousin happily volunteered to be my 'model' and let me do my first make up application. I love make up and products but strangely enough I have never applied make up to anyone else before, it is much harder than I had imagined. I love experimenting with new looks and techniques on myself but have never had the chance to do a proper consultation with someone.
I have included a before and after photo. I wanted to do something that was a daytime, neutral look. This is my favourite type of look and my inspiration is Cara from Mascara blog, her looks are so natural and beautiful and she uses her make up techniques not to create a mask but to accentuate and highlight her models best features. If you haven't already go and check her blog, she does a makeover Monday, and you will see why she is my inspiration!
I was quite pleased with the end result as it was my first time. Her skin was gorgeous to apply foundation onto, a real change from my oily, difficult skin and it was really fun to experiment with different colours that I would not normally wear.
I apologise for the lighting in these pictures, one I was using my iphone and two the sun went in half way through!

I really enjoyed doing this. I also have a class booked this week with the RA Academy, it is a MAC three hour masterclass so I am looking forward to be learning more there.

That is the only thing with doing a course at home you don't get to watch and learn the techniques so I have been looking into classes as well as my course material. I am also going to a Bobbi Brown event on Monday and am super excited to see the looks they create and to learn even more. I am like a sponge of all things beauty at the moment. Can't wait to get my hands on the next willing volunteer! :)
